Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is the Green Friendly Golf Belt?
A: The Green Friendly Golf Belt is a premium leather belt with a divot tool and ball marker built into its tip. It offers a stylish and convenient way to fix ball marks and mark the location of a golf ball on the green.

Q: How is it Green Friendly?
A: It's called "Green Friendly" as the divot tool's short forks are scientifically designed not to damage the green's fragile root system, ensuring the grass around the ball mark area will stay healthy after the ball mark is repaired.

Q: What is the Green Friendly Divot Tool made from?
A: The precision-engineered and rust-resistant divot tool and buckle are nickel-plated and have a high-polish finish.

Q: What is a ball mark?
A: A ball mark is a small depression that occurs when a golf ball lands on the green's lush grass. Busy golf courses can develop more than 1,000 of these cavities every day. Ball marks that are not repaired or are repaired improperly will kill the grass and result in a uneven putting surface.

Q:  Most of the divot tools I see have longer handles. Why doesn't the Green Friendly Tool have a longer handle?
A: Divot tools with long handles encourage the "lifting" type of repair that has been proven by The U.S.G.A. to destroy the grass in the repaired area by lifting the grass roots out of the gravel bed.  The short handle of the Green Friendly Divot Tool encourages the twisting type of repair that has been adopted by The Golf Course Superintendents Association of America, The U.S.G. A., and the PGA Tour.

Q: What is the correct way to repair a ball mark?
A: Stick the repair tool into the ground a quarter inch outside the ball mark and then slightly twist towards the mark. Do this 4 times around the ball mark and then tap the grass flush with the bottom of a putter. Go to "How it works" for more detailed instructions.

Q: Is it possible to engrave or print logos onto the tip of the belt?
A: Yes, using the latest laser-etching technology; names, logos or slogans can be engraved onto the tip of the belt.

Q: How does the ball marker stay in place?
A: The ball marker is magnetic and fits securely on the underside of the belt tip where it is always easily accessible.
